Your Engagement Session
An engagement session is such a lovely way to celebrate this chapter before the wedding, and a great chance for us to work together before the big day. I always recommend having some portraits taken ahead of time, especially if you’re feeling a little camera-shy. It’s a relaxed and fun experience that helps you feel more confident and comfortable in front of the camera, so when the wedding comes around, it feels familiar and effortless.
We can head to a location that’s meaningful to you, maybe where you got engaged, a favourite walk or beach, or even just a spot that feels like “you.” If you’re unsure, I’m more than happy to suggest some stunning locations around West Sussex and beyond. I know plenty of places with beautiful light, natural backdrops, and quiet charm.
I describe my approach as a documentary style with an editorial touch, meaning that I’ll give gentle guidance to help you look your best, but I’m mostly focused on capturing natural moments, the genuine laughter, the quiet connection, the way you two are when it’s just the two of you. You don’t need to worry about stiff poses or forced smiles. These sessions are laid-back, unhurried, and built around your relationship.
You’ll walk away with a gallery full of warm, honest images that feel completely you. They’re perfect for your wedding website, save-the-dates, or even just to have something beautiful to frame at home. They also make a lovely addition to your wedding guestbook, slideshow, or thank-you cards.
Some couples also choose to have their session as part of a trial run for hair and makeup, which can be a great way to see how everything is photographed ahead of the wedding day. It’s also a chance to try out an outfit or two and see what feels most like you in front of the camera.
